Join Kindred, Get 5 Free NightsWhat is Kindred?
Kindred is a home-swap network for homeowners. You list your place, and in return you get access to stay in other members' homes around the world - no nightly rate, just real homes shared between real members. It's a different way to travel than booking a hotel or a short-term rental.
Why I recommend Kindred
I've photographed Kindred member homes since 2023, more than 1,000 of them, and not only in New York. The countries I've personally shot Kindred homes in so far are Ireland, Italy, France, Czechia, Malta, Austria, and Germany.
I've been inside these homes and met the members. It's a real community and the homes are real homes, which is why I'm happy to point people toward it.

How do I get my 5 free nights with Kindred?
Sign up through the Finlay Films referral link and you start with 5 free nights, the same as every new Kindred member. There's no extra cost to you; Finlay Films earns a small referral credit when you join this way.
Which areas do you cover for Kindred member shoots?
The same core service area as everything else Finlay Films shoots: Brooklyn, Queens & Manhattan.
Where can you travel with Kindred?
Kindred members can currently travel across North America, Central America, parts of South America, and Europe, with more destinations being added.
How much does Kindred membership cost?
Joining Kindred is free - there are no membership fees and no minimum hosting requirements. You only pay a cleaning and service fee per trip, which covers cleaning the home before and after your stay plus trip support. Hosting is completely free.
How does the Kindred home swap work?
It's "give a night, get a night." You earn one credit for every night you host another member, and spend credits to stay in other members' homes. New members start with up to 5 nights. You can also arrange a direct one-to-one swap where the credits cancel out. Credits can't be bought - Kindred is strictly give-to-get.
Can renters use Kindred, or only homeowners?
Both. Because there's no cash exchange between members, renters are welcome alongside owners. Every member verifies their identity and their home before booking.
