A note on airspace
Much of NYC sits under controlled airspace. As a Part 107 pilot, Finlay Films files the required LAANC authorization ahead of each shoot. Some addresses near airports or heliports can't be flown at all - if that's the case for your listing, David will tell you before you book.
Building something?
Aerial progress documentation for construction sites and developers, one-off or on a recurring schedule.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if it rains or the drone can't fly?
Your shoot date doesn't move for weather on a photo booking. Interior photos happen on the date, and exterior and drone photos get captured on the next clear day at no extra charge, so there's nothing to reschedule. Video is different: if it includes exterior or garden footage, those shots need property access we can't repeat on a second trip, so the shoot is weather-dependent. You decide whether to go ahead or move it, and a reschedule is free with more than 24 hours' notice.
I booked drone or exterior photos only. When do you shoot?
A drone-only or exterior-only booking doesn't need a fixed appointment. We shoot it on the next good-weather day that works, and you don't need to be there. If you have a listing date or deadline, tell us at booking and we'll work to it.
Are you licensed to fly a drone?
Yes. Finlay Films flies with an FAA-certified Part 107 remote pilot and files for airspace authorization wherever it is required.
How much does drone photo and video cost?
Drone photos are $180 for 6, $300 for 15, and $499 for 25. Drone video is $299 on its own or $250 added to another video.
How soon is drone footage delivered?
Drone video comes back in 48 to 72 hours. Drone photos are delivered within 24 hours.
